1. (S) Anette Nilsson, Deputy Director of the MFA Department
for Security Policy, told post on March 10 that she has
passed reftel points regarding the Chinese national Abdul Haq
to other relevant Swedish agencies for their knowledge.
Nilsson thanked us for this information, but stated that
Sweden is unable to support the USG request for a listing at
this time based on the information provided in reftel.
2. (S) Nilsson stated that she has not received any
information regarding Abdul Haq from the Swedish security
services and that Sweden does not normally sponsor 1267
listings. Nilsson added that the only time Sweden has
sponsored a 1267 listing was in the case of Jemaah Islamiyah
as Swedish citizens died in the Bali bombings. Post will
report any additional response septel.
