D2 010651z TF Rock Reports TIC IVO FB Honaker-Miracle

At 0651z, Sapper 16 reports receiving SAF and RPG fire from an estimated squad sized ACM element at an estimated ACM position 42S XD 924 667 . Friendlies were enroute to FB Honaker-Miracle (XD 92800 66000). Friendlies are returning fire and continuing to move to FB H-M. Able 36 is SPing from FB H-M enroute to the contact area IOT maintain contact. Able 36 has regained contact with an ACM element vic. 42S XD 929 669. Able 36 reports receiving SAF as well as RPGs from that vic. 42S XD 9301 6610. The Sapper 17 element has started moving towards the suspected IED site. They are beginning their search at the Qamchi Police Station (42S XD 9279 6648) and then search from the east to the west. The sapper element has cleared from the Qamchi CP to FB H-M. The sapper element is going to dismount and clear from the Qamchi CP to the Qamchi HS. Contact ceased, no BDA, nothing follows. Event closed at 0947z. Later reporting indicated that Sapper 17 drove up on 2 construction workers that had been shot vic 42S XD 9632 6388. He didnt have a terp so he was unable to get the details about what happen. The workers are coming to the Abad FST in a UBCC vehicle. The SOG, FST, cobra, and PRT engineers have been notified. Sapper 17 is continuing with route clearance. Nature of wounds: 1 with sucking chest GSW wound, the other has arterial bleeding from GSW to the arm. ISAF Tracking # 09-011.
