2016 US Election
First published 22 July 2016 · Democratic National Committee; Hillary Clinton presidential campaign · 2 releases
DNC and Podesta emails we published during the 2016 campaign. US prosecutors later said Russia's GRU stole them.
Overview
During the 2016 campaign we published two email collections: internal DNC emails on 22 July 2016, three days before the convention, and emails from the account of Clinton campaign chair John Podesta, in 33 tranches between 7 October and 7 November.
A 2018 US indictment of 12 GRU officers and Mueller's 2019 report concluded that Russian military intelligence stole both sets and passed them to us. I have not named my source. I said in January 2017 the source was not the Russian government or any state party.
