At 0709Z, TM Ghazni reported an IED find. While conducting normal patrols FF found an IED along HWY 1 (RTE Ohio). EOD Enroute. NFT ATT SUMMARY OF EVENTS (S//REL) While travelling south along Route Ohio the 1/A Polish Battle Group discovered that a previously identified hole along the route had been disturbed. The Polish deployed their sappers to investigate the site and they discovered a string running from a possible triggering site towards the hole. The sapper unit secured the area where the string ended and collected all the debris from the site. The Polish Battle Group then backed off to a safe distance, set security, and requested CIED team Ghazni support. CIED team Ghazni arrived on scene and set an inner security cordon. Once security was set EOD investigated the site and cleared the area of explosive hazards. The hole contained one (1x) black nylon string that ran from the hole out to the east for approximately 200m. CEXC conducted an exploitation of the site and was unable to find any evidence of an actual device in the area. CIED team Ghazni collapsed security and returned to FOB Ghazni. ITEMS RECOVERED a.
