At 011400ZJAN07 TF Chosin reported OP3 at the Korengal Outpost (ANA Manned) was engaged by 2x enemy pax with SAF. An ANA soldier at the OP saw 2x individuals walking down the road by the OP just after dusk. The ANA continued to observe the individuals, and saw the men acting suspiciously. The ANA told them to stop, but the individuals did not, so the ANA soldier charged his weapon. The suspicious individuals opened fired on the ANA soldier, and the ANA soldier returned SAF. The ANA soldier believes he hit one of the individuals in the leg because of the way he hobbled away. The ANA company proceeded to engage other suspected enemy targets for 10 minutes, and US forces fired ILLUM in support. ANA launched a QRF patrol, overwatched by a US QRF patrol, but no BDA was determined. Event closed at 1610z. ISAF Tracking# 01-007.
