(N/I R) PRT MeS C/S together with ANSF made a major arrest operation southwest of SHEBERGHAN, grids 42STF 379428. (N/I R) 01 May 08 at 0930-1300 hrs the above mentioned forces conducted an arrest operation. Conducting the operation were forces from ANP, CID, NDS as well as forces from PRT MeS. There were approximated total of two hundred (200) men involved. (N/I R) Seventeen (17) men were arrested during the operation. Eight (8) of them were from a NDS list of eleven (11) named persons. (N/I R) Five (5) kg of opium, one (1) PKM machine gun, seven (7) AK47 assault rifles, three (3) hand grenades, ten (10) kg of small arms ammunition and five (5) motorbikes were confiscated in the operation. (N/I R) Some of the arrested people were suspected of robberies conducted in the central area of KHANAQA and FEYZABAD districts, some for an attack against a civilian de-mining team and some for the recent murder of a small girl during a robbery attempt.
