010345Z Bagram PRT Kohistan I Ribbon Cutting of Juldak School

The Kapisa team went to conduct a ribbon cutting at the Juldak School. The governor was running late so we first conducted a medical assessment of the Shairkhan Kheyl Comprehensive Health Clinic (which the PRT opened last month). The clinic was already being used and there was a long line of people waiting to be treated. The clinic director talked with the PRT physician assistant and answered questions about their capabilties and needs. They were not using either of the two 15kw generators we had provided as they did not have enough fuel. They also wanted us to renovated some old buildings in the courtyard to make them into doctors offices. We then went over to the ribbon cutting ceremony at the Juldak School. In attendance was the governor, the sub-governor, the health director, the education director, the chief of police, the school principal, and many of the villagers. The PRT discussed future projects in the area and told the villagers that it was because of the security they had provided that allowed us to operate in the area. We had lunch with the governor and the contractor in the school and discussed the next Provincial Development Meeting and requested that the Education Director, Engineer, MRRD Director, Health Director, and Agriculture Director be present in the meeting.
