At 0410Z TF Uruzgan reported 25-40X insurgents engaged with indirect fire from 2X fire positions at 41S QS 735 235, 800m northeast of PB Poentjak in Tarin Kowt district, Uruzgan province. Firing position 1 was at 41S QS 735 245 and firing position 2 at 41S QS 733 239. Friendly forces returned fire and observed point of origin. At 0431Z TF Uruzgan reported still receiving fire and returning fire with 81mm at the point of origin, recoils overhead. At 0528Z Sources indicate resupply of insurgents .Friendly forces intent is to move to contact .Friendly forces fired 2X 155mm rounds at mortar position. At 0553Z Friendly forces positively identified 1X point of origin at 41S QS 7446 2269 and engaged. At 0554Z Forces received 82mm fire. At 0613Z TF Uruzgan reported that Harriers engaged enemy with rockets. At 0728Z No BDA to report as insurgents withdrew. Event closed at 0738Z. ISAF tracking # 10-005.
