(ENEMY ACTION) DIRECT FIRE RPT OCC-P ANP : 8 ANSF KIA

OCC-P ANP conducting a NFO have reported that INS engaged FF checkpoint resulting possible 1 x ANP KIA. UPDATE 1122D* OCCP reports that 17 ANP were manning the CP. TFK states that earlier reports indicates that the event took place at 0400D* 1 MAR 09. 10 are reported missing and 7 reported KIA. TFK reports that all weapons are missing from the CP. UPDATE 1146D* ANSF are conducting investigation and have indicated they do not require support. HERON is overhead as ISR asset and AIR assets may be pushed to support. TFK will stand by to support. COMM's with ANP are poor in that area due to cell phone coverage. UPDATE 1147D* It is now being reported that 8 x ANP officers were KIA. STORY RE-WRITTEN BY RC(S) INS engaged an ANP checkpoint in EMARAT DAND resulting in multiple ANP killed. There are conflicting reports but it is believed 8 x ANP have been killed. The CP is normally manned by 17 x ANP but the others are thought to have been in KANDAHAR city at the time of the incident. Reports suggested that the bodies had been thrown into a well. The same CP was attacked also on 31st JAN 09. ANP are currently conducting an investigation and no CF assistance has been requested at this time.
