Report text

While flying ISO of 1-508 around 0810L the trail AH-64 looked up at the lead aircraft and saw the airburst from a RPG at their altitude and slightly behind them. There was no smoke trail. All the trail A/C saw was the air burst, black cloud. The A/C engaged (A/C 1) was flying from east to west at 270 degrees heading, 800ft AGL and the trail (A/C 2) was flying west to east at 500 AGL conducting circle turns when the RPG burst was seen by A/C 2 bursting right behind A/C 1. Neither A/C saw the enemys location. No smoke trail was seen. At the request of 1-508, the AH crews found and observed two male subjects walking from the VIC of 41R PR 6576 3027 where they had been observing the requesting unit. They continued walking to where they were then observed at 41R PR 6589 3018 by A/C 2. They had no weapons, but seemed as if they were pacing and observing off 1-508s position.
