Wakil and his family provide one of the perspectives necessary in fully understanding the poltical, economic, and cultural dynamics in western Nuristan. The Governor's visit to western Nuristan will provide a great opportunity for the people to connect with the provincial government. The people of western Nuristan are starving for interaction with government officials, who they feel do not fully understand their plight. Security in the Wadawu valley continues to flucuate as a result of being the home villages of several of the more prominent ACM leaders in the region. The PRT will continue to engage with the Valley Shura and sub governor to change the security environment. A follow up Shura is scheduled for 4-5 Jaunary (Follow up to 27 Dec Shura). The future meeting with female community leaders is a promising opportunity. The PRT will follow up on Wakil's offer to arrange such meeting and establish another means of communication with the people of Nuristan.
