At 011338Z Oct 06 RCAG G2 reported that during yesterday evening an ANA patrol in area 4 of SHIR ZAI (ANA camp near KAF) encountered several men in civilian attire with AK47s at the southeast corner of SHIR ZAI acting suspicious. 3x warning shots were fired by ANA. The men ran and left in a pick up towards Highway 4. A second patrol attempted to cut them off at MIG gate (the ANA controlled gate that leads from Highway 4 to Tower 3 that passes the old bazaar) and the suspects were not located. At the site of the incident 1x tank round (54mm) was found, believed to be part of a possible attempted IED.
