Report text
Task Force Bayonet reported an explosion on one of its convoys 17 kilometers northeast of Forward Operating Base (FOB) Sweeney. At 0500Z, a convoy was traveling to Athgar when an uparmor HMMWV (M1114) was damaged by an explosion. The vehicle sustained light damage to the hood and a flat tire. The damage caused by the explosion was consistent with small explosive device. It is unknown at this type what type of explosive. However, the explosive ordnance disposal team (EOD) that exploited the site ruled out a remote control IED as a possibility. There were no injuries to personnel and no additional damages reported.
